Local Students To Represent Ireland At Luxembourg Event

TWO students from St Ita’s and St Joseph’s School are off to Luxembourg on Friday to speak at the European Hearing for Inclusive Education conference.

Nakkita Hallissey and Blake O’Gorman are the only two Irish students travelling to the event and will be accompanied by Principal Grace Sheehan and classroom assistant Marion Murphy.

Delegates from 34 countries will be taking part and Blake and Nakkita will speak on behalf of all students in special schools in Ireland. They, with the other delegates, will outline the inclusive practices of their own school and put forward recommendations which will impact on European Policy on inclusive education for all.

Nakkita and Blake are both completing their Junior Certificate and Blake is also completing his City and Guilds Qualification as a painter/decorator in the school.
