THE Summer Stars Reading Adventure begins in your local library on this Saturday, June 15.

Each year Kerry Library runs free summer reading programmes for primary school children to promote literacy development during the holidays and to encourage readers and not so regular readers to engage with books.

Each child is invited to register for the adventure and will receive their own Reading Card to record and track their progress.

At the end of the adventure, all children who participate are invited to attend an award event at which they will be presented with their own Summer Stars certificate.

On Saturday, June 15 the Library will also have Storytime for Smallies at 11.30am and they are hosting an event for Cruinniú na nÓg — Storytelling with Billy Teare and Kathleen O’Sullivan at 1.30pm. No booking necessary. For further info call 066 – 7121200 or check out the event on http://www.kerrylibrary.ie
