Sponsored: Mary’s Advice On Tribella Treatments At The CHRC

.

Mary O’Donnell of the Cosmetic And Hair Restoration Clinic has advice on Tribella treatments at the Clinic…

People are asking me my advice on Tribella treatments. My advice is to have one and see the results for yourself.

I recently had a Tribella and feel my skin is more uniformed and looks like I have foundation on. For me after years of sun exposure I had a lot of pigmentation, and I did not realise how ageing it was.

Fine lines are reduced, and my overall skin looks fresher and less dull. I also noticed my skin firmer from the radio frequency part of the treatment, which is especially good, if you are experiencing lack of firmness in the skin.

There is three different sections to this treatment to treat all different concerns you maybe  be experiencing.

The Tribella is the ultimate facial rejuvenation treatment. This treatment works on pigmentation, fine lines, redness, wrinkles, skin laxity and fine lines.

Straight after your treatment, your skin will feel warm, and you will have a red appearance. It may feel like mild sunburn and pigmentated vascular lesions may become darker in colour.

After 24 hours you may apply makeup and the treatment will continue to work and full results will be three months after your last treatment. A course is recommended but just try one.

You can expect to see fresher, brighter skin that looks more youthful. Contact chrc@bonsecours.ie or phone 086-0786120.

Sponsored: An Appealing Offer On Peel Treatments At CHRC

.

Mary O’Donnell of the Cosmetic and Hair Restoration Clinic at the Bon Secours on Peel treatments at the CHRC…

WHEN most people hear skin peels, they think of Samantha jones from ‘Sex And The City’.

In real life the reaction is a lot milder but has results will amaze you. In CHRC we do a medical peel.

Peels are a type of exfoliation and instead of using a scrub to remove dead skin, a peel uses a chemical liquid to remove the dead cells.

Peels lift away the dead cells that sit upon the skin, an excess of which of which can cause dullness, congestion, and an uneven complexion.

Once the dead skin is removed all your products like serums and moisturisers can penetrate deeper and have a better effect. Having a peel can stimulate healthier skin and helps with pigmentation and skin tone.

In babies, skin cell renewal takes around 14 days. For teenagers, it takes around 28 days. In middle age it takes 28-42 days and for 50 plus it can take up to 84 days.

So, one of the benefits of peels is to increases cell turnover and get back that fresh Dewey skin again. They can help to unclog pores and help prevent breakouts.

A dehydrated skin can look a lot older due to dryness and after a peel- fine lines and wrinkles appear less obvious.

In my experience you will flake in the days following your peel, so booking in your peel a few weeks before the event is recommended.

The peel journey starts with a consultation and the strength of the peel will increase with treatments.

If you are still on the fence about booking a course of peels, maybe this offer will get you off the fence and running to book at this multi award winning clinic. Contact : www.bonseours.ie phone: 086-0786120.

A SKINCARE brand that stands out for me is AlumierMD which is a medical grade skincare brand and is very much results driven.

When it comes to ageing, we are all aware of the deadly signs – dehydration, dull appearance, rough texture, fine lines and wrinkles, loss of elasticity, hyperpigmentation, lack of firmness and loss of fat and fullness in the face.

AlumierMD has 4 simple steps to work on all aspects of ageing. To begin with Everactive C&E +Peptide; this award- winning product is clinically validated and a potent serum that ensures that 15% Vitamin C which is always optimally active.

Results are reduced fine lines and wrinkles and much brighter skin. Peptides are amino acids that make up certain proteins which can stimulate your skin to make more collagen. It also is antioxidant protection for cells.

Second recommendation is Ultimate Boost Serum which stimulates collagen production. It strengthens and firms and improves elasticity. It also boosts hydration and restores the skins hydrolipid barrier. Leaves the skin feeling soft, hydrated, smooth and firm.

Next step is Retinol which is encapsulated so it gives a slow release. This will speed up cell turnover which slows down as we age.

It also restores hyaluronic acid and reduces fine lines and wrinkles and hyperpigmentation and comes in three strengths so that you can progress as your skin adjusts.

Sponsored: Just Two Weeks Left To Avail Of CHRC August Offer

.

Mary O’Donnell of the Cosmetic and Hair Restoration Clinic at the Bon Secours Tralee says the latest August offer at CHRC has only two weeks remaining…

This amazing offer involves any two areas of skin tightening for 100 euro. It can be face and body or face and neck area, whatever suits you or what areas you feel needs more attention.

Radio frequency or skin tightening used in aesthetics is a non-surgical method of skin tightening your skin. The procedure involves using energy waves to heat the deep layer of your skin known as your dermis.

This heat stimulates the production of collagen. We start to lose collagen from 25 years, but the effects become more noticeable after several years.

Even though this is a natural process, it is possible to speed it up with UV exposure, pollution, bad habits and poor diet choices.

While it is possible to accelerate, it is possible also to slow down the process. Our non-invasive radio frequency treatments trigger collagen and elastin, the key building blocks of healthy, youthful skin.

The results are effortlessly tighter, smoother, and younger-looking skin. Collagen helps increase skin elasticity and hydration and elasticity. The skin also will look more radiant and feel more smoother to the touch.

When hydration levels increase, the skin will look more youthful and this in turn will give the skin the ultimate glow. The tightening effect of radio frequency will result in a firmer looking jawline and a lovely lifting effect.

To avail of the final remaining appointments, contact; chrc@bonsecours.ie or phone 086-0786120.

Sponsored: All You Need To Know About PRP At The CHRC

.

Mary O’Donnell of the Cosmetic and Hair Restoration Clinic at the Bon Secours Hospital answers any questions on the PRP treatment available at the clinic…

CHRC at the Bon Secours Hospital Tralee is now offering a hair density treatment for both males and females called PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma).

What is PRP?

PRP involves taking plasma from your blood and injecting the plasma into your scalp to increase hair density. The procedure increases blood supply to the hair follicle and increases the thickness of the hair follicle.

How is the blood injected for the treatment?

The blood is drawn from your arm and placed into a centrifuge which spins rapidly to separate the plasma.

The platelet rich plasma is administered into the scalp via a pneumatic gun to areas that require increased hair growth. The pneumatic gun gives the patient a more comfortable treatment and reduces the pain level.

Does the hair get thicker with PRP?

Yes, the PRP treatment induces new hair regeneration in both male and female pattern hair loss. It also decelerates hair loss in men and women, makes finer hairs thicker while in turn increasing the overall density and strength of the hairs.

How many treatments are needed?

Everyone’s hair growth is different and your initial consultation with our surgeon will give you a better idea of how many treatments you will need.

On average most PRP patients will initially require 3-4 treatments every 4-6 weeks and then maintenance treatment every 6 months.

What is the duration of the treatment?

The PRP treatment itself takes between 20-30 minutes so you can easily have it done on your lunch hour.

The Summer Skin Glow special offer at the CHRC is getting a great reaction from women and men looking to get their skin glowing for that special occasion. This treatment involves three steps to achieve a radiant complexion.

Step one is radio frequency which is a skin tightening treatment. The device which is non-surgical generates heat to stimulates the production of collagen and elastin and new skin cells. It is suitable for both the face and neck area.

There is no downtime so you can even have this treatment done on your lunchtime. Clients are finding their skin feels and looks a lot tighter.

Sponsored: It’s Worth Consulting The Experts At CHRC

.

Mary O’Donnell of the Cosmetic and Hair Restoration Centre at the Bon Secours Hospital in  Tralee says a personal consultation with the experts is worth it…

The amount of people I see who have cabinets full of products but don’t how to use them or don’t know why they bought them in the first place.

I think we all get caught up in a promotion and need to get the latest product regardless weather it is suitable for our skins or not.

A personal consultation with CHRC could change all that and you will know what is going on with your skin and know what products to look out for.

Skincare is a great way to start your well-being and a good place to start your journey is getting a diagnostic of your skin.

What I like about it is that you can see what is happening deep in your skin. Address the issues and see your progress on a return visit.

Getting an advanced skin analysis is a great start to achieve your skin goals and decide what treatments and products are most suitable for you in a bespoke consultation tailored your individual needs.

What you can see is an enhanced view of the skin surface, fine lines, wrinkles, texture and pores.

You can also see an unobstructed view of vascular conditions such as redness. Pigmentation is always a good one to see the damage caused by sunlight exposure without sunscreen over the years.

We can see dehydration and oiliness and any irregularities and irritations. Treatments can then be recommended, and a good skincare is put in place for the best possible outcome.

It is also a great incentive to stick with the daily routine and see on your next visit how your work is paying off. The analysis is then emailed to you so you can see the findings in the comfort of your own home.

If you would like to arrange a consultation with this multi-award-winning clinic, please contact chrc@bonsecours.ie or phone 0860786120.

Sponsored: Taking Care Of Skin Around The Eye Area

.

Mary O’Donnell of the Cosmetic and Hair Restoration Clinic on treatments for skin around the eye area…

The area around the eyes is so delicate and needs extra care and intention. The skin under your eyes can be up to 10 times thinner than the rest of your face.

Under eye wrinkles occur when the skin around the eyes becomes thinner and loses elasticity which can be accelerated by frequent sun exposure, smoking, repeated facial movements and certain genetic traits.

The primary cause of under eye lines is depleted levels of collagen. Collagen is fundamental in supporting the facial structure and responsible for keeping the skin youthful.

Most people concerns are lines under the eyes, crow’s feet, sunken eyes, increased darkness and puffiness and crinkling of the upper lid.

At CHRC we offer many solutions to help this delicate eye area. Lunchtime lift is a non-invasive eye treatment with immediate results.

It works on tightening the area and visibly approving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles to achieve a noticeable lift. A course of treatments is recommended but you will see results after one treatment.

We also recommend our award-winning collagen drink Skinade which is also the world’s No.1 collagen drink that use six active ingredients to assist optimal skin function. CHRC is the only provider of Skinade in Kerry.

This peach and mangosteen flavoured drink boosts your body’s natural production of collagen and hyaluronic acid, improving your skin’s elasticity and youthful appearance in as little as thirty days.

We offer two eye care products from AlumierMD. The first product is AluminEye which is a rich cream that significantly improves the appearance of dark circles, fine lines and puffiness. It also contains light reflecting ingredients that immediately lightens the appearance of under eye darkness.

The second product is Alumier retinol eye gel which is microencapsulated anti-aging retinol that dramatically improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and firms the skin.

As it is microencapsulated this gel retinol is formulated especially for the delicate eye area. It is a slow release overnight, minimizing irritation and maximising effectiveness. This cream increases cell turnover and stimulates collagen production.

CHRC is the only provider of Skinade in Kerry which is the no.1 collagen supplement in the world.

The following are the most frequently asked questions we receive here at CHRC:

What is Skinade?

Skinade is a multi-award winning collagen drink supplement that supports the skin all over your body.

What are the ingredients?

It contains collagen peptides, Vitamin B complex, Vitamin C, lysine and omega 3&6.

What are the main benefits?

It works from the inside out to rebuild your collagen matrix below the skin surface. It boosts hydration and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, adding radiance and that healthy glow to your skin, while also increasing skin suppleness and firmness.

Why would you need a collagen supplement?

As we age, we loose collagen at the rate of 1.5% per year from our early twenties. This loss results in wrinkles, fine lines, dry, blemished and thinning skin. Collagen is a critical part of the structure of the dermis and gives our skin its plumpness.

How do you take it?

It comes in a 150 ml bottle which you take daily for 30 days.

What does it taste like?

It is a peachy and mangosteen flavour and it is very nice cold from the fridge.

How soon will I see results?

Results can be seen as soon as one week from taking it on a daily basis!

Sponsored: All You Need To Know About Venus Bliss At CHRC

.

Mary O’Donnell of the Cosmetic and Hair Restoration Clinic at the Bon Secours in Tralee has all you need to know about the Venus Bliss treatment at the clinic…

September is a great time for self-care.

At CHRC, two of our most popular treatments available to target stubborn fat are skin tightening and fat reduction.

What can be done for stubborn fat on the abdomen?

We have two treatments for the tummy area which help to tighten, sculpt and contour.

The first one is fat reduction and the second is skin tightening.

Both treatments are very safe and comfortable and part of our FDA approved Venus Bliss device which is non-surgical and non-invasive.

How does the fat reduction work?

Fat reduction uses laser technology and is for stubborn pockets of fat at the waist, back and abdomen. It improves body contours without surgery, scars or downtime. It selectively breaks down fat cells which are naturally eliminated by the body.

How does the skin tightening work?

Skin tightening uses advanced radio frequency technology to tighten the skin and reduces circumferences to contour the body. The applicator has a deep effect on the tissue and the skin will be firmer and smoother.

How many treatments will I need?

A consultation will determine how many treatments you will need.

A course is recommended and the treatment time is usually 30 minutes per treatment.

Does it hurt?

The treatment area will feel quite warm and will stay that way for up to two hours after your treatment.

What areas can be treated?

Along with the abdomen area, other areas that can be treated are the back, thighs, arms and legs.

Contact us to discuss the best treatment options for you and to schedule an appointment.

Sponsored: How To Keep Your Hands Looking Youthful

.

Mary O’Donnell of the Cosmetic and Hair Restoration Clinic at the Bon Secours in Tralee, answers questions on keeping hands looking youthful…

At CHRC, we receive a lot of enquiries about keeping hands looking youthful.

The following are our most frequently asked questions:

Why do hands age so badly with brown spots appearing?

Age spots on hands are very common over the age of 50 but can appear much earlier if you are in the sun more.

As we age, we lose fat and elasticity and the skin loses volume. This reduced volume and decreased elasticity produces translucent skin that wrinkles and develops age spots.

Also, as we age we are more susceptible to age spots as we have reduced melanin in the skin.

What treatments are available to treat hands that have brown spots?

We have two treatments in the CHRC to help hands look more youthful.

The first is our diamond polar which helps with skin tightening. This combines radio-frequency and pulsed electro-magnetic field technology.

A course is recommended but results can be seen just after one treatment.

The treatments are cumulative and after your last treatment the skin will continue to improve for up to 3 to four months.

Maintenance is required as we continue to age. Every season a top up is required or up to the individual requirements.

The second treatment is intense pulsed light (IPL), which is a very successful treatment for the age spots.

A course is recommended and at first the pigment will go darker before it starts to eventually fade. You can have this treatment every four weeks.

What can I do after my treatment to maintain my results?

The treatment is very effective but SPF is recommended to be stop new pigment forming or activating the original treated pigment.

AlumierMD have an award-winning SPF that is recommended for daily use after treatment. The sunscreen contains zinc oxide and titanium dioxide which is better for your skin and also the environment.

Younger looking hands are now available at your fingertips by contacting CHRC via telephone 0860786120 or email chrc@bonsecours.ie

Sponsored: Your Questions Answered On Skin Tightening Treatments At CHRC

.

Mary O’Donnell of the Cosmetic Hair and Restoration Clinic at Bon Secours says one of the most popular treatments at CHRC is RF Skin Tightening. Here’s what you need to know…

RF stands for radio frequency which is a non invasive treatment to target loose and sagging skin through heat.

The heat penetrates deep into the layers of the skin and promotes collagen production and smooths the contours of the skin.

The following are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive on the RF treatment from our clients:

How does it work?

RF Skin tightening works by gradually heating the dermal and subdermal tissue you tighten and re-contour both superficially and volume metrically.

As the dermis is heated, a natural reaction occurs that promotes the creation of new collagen, while simultaneously releasing toxins in the fat and draining retained fluids.

This gives your skin back its smoothness, shape and elasticity with no anaesthesia or long recovery time necessary.

How many treatments are needed?

On average 8-10 treatments are required after your initial consultation.

How long does it take?

The treatment itself takes 25 minutes but allow yourself roughly 40 minutes if you are aiming to have the treatment during your lunch hour.

How does the treatment feel?

The treatment works by heating up the skin gradually so you will feel warmth on the skin.

The skin will feel warm and red afterwards for a short time and the redness will subside within a couple of hours.

What areas can I do this treatment on?

This treatment can be used on several areas of the body. The most popular areas are the abdomen, buttocks and thighs and this treatment can also be used on the face, neck and eye area.

How much per treatment?

The cost is €155 per treatment.

Is there any downtime with this treatment?

This is a non-invasive treatment so there is no downtime associated with it. After the treatment you may have some redness and feel warmth in the area.

Sponsored: Treatment Options For Thinning Hair At The CHRC

.

Mary O’Donnell of the Cosmetic and Hair Restoration Clinic at the Bon Secours on the options for treatment of thinning hair…

Thinning hair is something that affects 70% of men. If this is affecting you and you want to take action, at the CHRC we recommend that you talk with our doctor to identify the cause of your hair loss and our doctor will then discuss our management and treatment options that are most suitable foryou.

If a hair restoration procedure is the best solution for you, there is a huge EU trend now on hair restoration that is minimally invasive.

At the CHRC, we use the only roboticsystem in the country, ARTAS iX, to provide a minimally invasive and precise hair restoration procedure called follicular unit extraction (FUE).

Using FUE we use your own hair follicles from the back and sides of your head which is resistant to hair loss and transplant these hair follicles to the areas you are experiencing your hair thinning.

It is important to point out those results from the hair restoration procedure take time; it is not an overnight fix as your hair grows in cycles. Results will depend on the individual; if your hair grows quickly you are likely to get a faster result, but it can take 4-6 months to start seeing a resultand the hair will continue to grow up to 12-18 months.

To discuss any queries on hair restoration please contact us at CHRC on 086 0786120 to speak with Nicole or one of our team who would be delighted to arrange a hair consultation for you.

Sponsored: Look Great This Summer With Treatment To Deal With ‘Bingo Wings’

.

Mary O’Donnell of the Cosmetic and Hair Restoration Clinic at the Bon Secours in Tralee on a non-surgical, skin-tightening treatment for ‘bingo wings’…

One area that a lot of females are conscious of is their upper arms, especially during the summer and they look for dresses that cover that upper arm area.

Wobbly upper arms or “bingo wings” are those flaps of skin that hang down and swing along with every arm movement. They can happen to anyone of any gender.

However, since men have an average of 10-15 percent more muscle mass, bingo wings primarily affect women starting at a younger age.

Bingo wings come from a combination of three problems: reduced muscle mass, excess fat and poor skin condition.

This lack of muscle mass contributes to the “bingo wing” look, because without strength and tone, the tissue in your upper arms will sag.

The upper arms can be helped with a skin tightening treatment in CHRC at the Bons Secours Tralee. It is F.D.A approved, painless, there is zero downtime and it is a non-surgical treatment.

For years, the main treatment for bingo wings had been surgery, which came with its risks such as pain, downtime and surgical scars.

Fortunately, this is not the case anymore with the CHRC non-surgical skin tightening procedure, powered by innovative technology which rejuvenates the appearance of the skin safely and comfortably by heating the tissue under the skin’s surface.

This triggers the natural production of collagen and elastin, the key building blocks of healthy, youthful skin. The result is an effortlessly tighter, smoother and younger-looking skin.

Book a consultation with CHRC and we can tell you the amount of treatments needed to get your arms looking their best in sleeveless dresses. Contact us at chrc@bonsecours.ie or phone 086 0786120.

Sponsored: Treatments For Acne At The Cosmetic And Hair Restoration Clinic

.

Mary O’Donnell on the AC Dual treatment for acne available at the Cosmetic and Hair Restoration Clinic at the Bon Secours Tralee…

Acne has become a very persistent skin condition since mask wearing became a necessity during the pandemic.

It occurs when the hair follicles become blocked with oil and dead cells, causing whiteheads, blackheads or pimples. Acne is most common among teenagers, though it affects people of all ages.

Aside from the physical effects of acne, the condition can also have an impact on emotional and psychological well-being.

At CHRC we have a treatment called AC Dual that uses IPL to simultaneously address both the cause and the visible symptoms of acne.

This is a dual light treatment-blue light targets acne causing bacteria, leading to the destruction of the bacteria.

The red light controls inflammation and promotes faster healing. AC Dual can also treat the chest and back area.

There is no downtime and the treatment is quick and comfortable. The sensation is that of an elastic band touching the skin. A built in cooling system makes the treatment very comfortable.

Treatment time is normally 20 minutes; the number of treatments will depend on the individual but typically 6-12 treatments are required.

Sponsored: Effective Moisturisers For Sensitive Skin At The CHRC

.

Mary O’Donnell of the Cosmetic Hair and Restoration Clinic on some effective moisturisers available at the clinic…

One of my most asked questions is “can you recommend a moisturiser for sensitive skin?”

Before identifying the best moisturiser for you, at CHRC our first step is always to analyse your skin to identify what might be causing your skin sensitivity and identify the best treatment for this. Overly dry skin can lead to skin reactions.

Excessive exposure to skin-damaging environmental factors such as sun and wind or excessive heat or cold can also be a factor. I can’t overemphasise the importance of wearing a good SPF all year round!

If you are trying a new moisturiser, and your skin is highly sensitive, we often recommend that you test it first.

At CHRC, HydraCalm from Alumier, our medical grade-skin care range, is a soothing and rich moisturiser loaded with antioxidants and calming ingredients.

Perfect for anyone with sensitive skin, it calms and soothes and relieves redness and irritation.

HydraCalm contains sea whip, an excellent ingredient for redness-prone and sensitive skin, intensely nourishing and hydrating.

HydraCalm contains low molecular weight hyaluronic acid which draws water into the skin, making skin plumper, softer and smoother.

This amazing product also contains redness -relieving peptides and the calming qualities of honey to soothe irritation, redness and puffiness. It can be used both in the morning and the evening for face, neck and décolleté.
