Met Eireann.

ANY hope of a lovely Spring weekend has been dashed by Met Eireann’s forecast…but we’ll take it with a pinch of salt!

Bear in mind, last weekend the Met office predicted a washout and we had some nice weather, so maybe their weather vanes are out of whack again.

Nevertheless, they are predicting that tomorrow we’ll endure unseasonably cold temperatures and showers of hail thrown in for good measure.

Saturday will be cold with sunshine and showers of rain or hail in the afternoon. Some of the showers will be heavy and some may be thundery. Highest temperatures just 5 to 8 C with light to moderate southwest breezes.

If you’re thinking of heading for Croke Park on Sunday bring warm coat a hat and scarf because it could be a nippy one in the capital.

Sunday will see some bright or sunny spells developing in the morning, but the latest data suggests that a spell of wet and windy weather will develop over Munster and parts of Leinster by early afternoon. The day will be cold, with highest values of 5 to 9 C.

Yerra, they’ll be wrong again.
