Teddy Bears Hospital Event At IT Tralee To Allay Children’s Fears

A SPECIAL event is being held at IT Tralee tomorrow (Saturday) to ease any child’s fears about getting treatment in a hospital.

The Teddy Bear’s Hospital promises to be an educational, interactive and fun day, where Teddy will have his blood pressure, temperature taken and will be treated for minor surgery if necessary.

All equipment used will be explained and shown to the children and they will be able to help with teddy’s check-up.

Other stations at the ‘hospital’ will include a hand washing station to teach children (and parents) how to properly wash their hands, a wound cleaning and bandaging station to teach children (and parents) how to clean and bandage cuts properly, a healthy eating station and a station with information on the importance of taking 10,000 steps per day.

Teddy will receive a Certificate of Full Health on passing his check-up. The event takes place in the Solas Building 3rd floor, IT Tralee, North Campus from 11am to 2pm.

There will be a half hour slot from 10.30 to 11am for children with special needs. There is a maximum of 30 places per slot so it is important to book early.
