The Irish Cancer Society are calling on women to join their team and sign up for events to help raise funds for the society.

THE Irish Cancer Society is calling on women all around Kerry to sign up in the name of the society for one or more the mini-marathons that will soon be taking place all around Munster.

Those who are participating in one of the upcoming mini-marathons can join the society’s team and while doing so, they can help raise funds for vital cancer services while doing so.

“The Munster Mini Marathons offer an excellent opportunity to set a personal fitness goal while also raising funds for a good cause. At the Irish Cancer Society, we are inviting the women of Kerry to sign up to join our team,” said Mark Mellett, Head of Fundraising at the society.

“All funds raised for the Society will go towards the provision of free services to cancer patients and their families all over Ireland. These include Night Nursing Services, a Volunteer Driver Service which brings patients to and from their chemotherapy treatment, Daffodil Centres in 13 hospitals across the country offering information and support as well as Financial Support for those suffering financial hardship as a result of their diagnosis,” he continued.

“As an independent charity, the Society relies on the generous support of its donors to continue the work which we do. We invite all those who would like to support us to sign up today, you can really make a difference to the lives of cancer patients,” he finished.

• The Killarney Mini Marathon on Sunday, 19th of September 2015
