KILLARNEY LEGION senior manager, Peter Keane, has been announced as the new manager of the Kerry minor football team.
The announcement was made at a meeting of County Committee in Austin Stack Park tonight.
Keane who has brought Legion on leaps and bounds in recent years will take over from Jack O’Connor who trained Kerry to back to back All-Ireland minor titles.
The Cahersiveen native brought Legion to the club championship final last year and orchestrated their return to the county senior football championship and to Division 1 of the county senior football league.
In other news from the meeting tonight, Eamonn Fitzmaurice was reappointed as Kerry senior manager for a further year, while there was no announcement of the Kerry hurling team manager. However, an appointment is imminent and will be made next week.
