THE new Kerry Rose has been announced and she’s a Causeway woman.

The Kerry Rose Selection was held in the Ballyroe Heights Hotel tonight with 17 ladies from all over the county and beyond, vying for the chance to represent Kerry in the Rose of Tralee Festival this August.

Watched by over 400 people, host Dáithi Ó Sé announced Sally Ann Leahy as the winner to the delight of her family and supporters.

Sally-Ann is a Home Economics teacher and Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator in Meán Scoil Nua an Leith-Tríuigh, Castlegregory.

The 27-year-old from Causeway recently graduated with a First-Class Honours Masters in Management in Education. In 2014, Sally-Ann received a Diploma in Beauty Therapy and Holistic Massage.

She also was awarded a First-Class Honours Post Graduate Diploma in Special Education Needs from St. Angela’s College Sligo in 2016.

Sally-Ann is an active volunteer with Chernobyl Children’s Fund, Tralee welcoming children into her home during the summer and recently travelling to Belarus to volunteer in an orphanage. For all the fashion and photos from the stylish night at the Ballyroe Heights Hotel, click here and here
