BAD news. There’s some awful weather on the way if Met Eireann’s forecasts are to be believed.

A Status Yellow Rainfall warning will come into effect this evening for Kerry which will see
heavy rain on Sunday night and Monday with a risk of spot flooding, especially in southern parts of the county.

The warning is valid from 6pm today until Monday at 6pm. Judging by the predicted rainfall radar on the Met Eireann website, it looks like the heaviest rainfall will arrive around 2am and will continue for most of the morning.

Along with this, there is a Status Yellow Wind warning for  Kerry where strong and gusty southeast winds are expected. Means speeds of 50 to 65kmh with gusts of 90 to 110km/h, strongest in coastal areas and about high ground. The warning is valid from 2am on Monday to 7pm tomorrow.
