A PENSIONER living in Hawley Park had around €250 worth of her home heating oil stolen at the weekend as thieves emptied her tank.
The woman was understandably upset when she discovered the theft, but the community is rallying around to help her.
The ‘Tralee Do You Know’ Facebook page started a fundraising campaign to help the lady in question and Sutton’s Oil have made sure that she has enough oil to heat her home and they have sent a plumber to fix her boiler.
People can donate by contacting Una Hayes at Sutton Oil on 066 7121022. All they have to do is say they want to donate to the lady in Hawley Park who had her oil stolen and Una will top up her account with whatever amount people can afford to give.
Homeowners are urged to be vigilant against thieves, especially at this time of the year when people fill their oil tanks for the winter.
