Things To Do In Tralee And Beyond This Weekend

While the weather is likely to spoil a few things, there’s still a few events to attend this weekend in town and beyond…

Saturday

1. Go for a run…

Michelle Greaney of MG Coaching is organising the Tralee 10 Miler and 5k Road Race which takes place from The Rose Hotel at 11am.

There’s only a few places left for both races so you have to act fast if you want to take part. Once again, Michelle’s chosen charity is Kerry Hospice Foundation.

Entry fee for the 10 Miler is €25 + €1.20c transaction fee and 5k entry is €15 + .50c transaction fee. To register click here.

2. Support the Tralee lads…

Tralee CBS are in the Corn Uí Mhuirí Munster Colleges Final and there’s sure to be a big contingent from the town travelling to the game.

Unfortunately, the match against St Brendan’s Killarney is on in Fitzgerald Stadium but if you can get out there it should be a great afternoon of football. Throw-in is at 1pm. Click here for ticket information.

3. Rev up for car show…

Car lovers are in for a treat as Kerry Motor Club are organising a static car show in the Brandon Car Park in Tralee.

The show takes place from 8am to 6pm and the event is being held to raise funds for club member James Quinlan who faces a very difficult medical journey in New York.

A huge collection of rally cars, vintage, classic and sports cars will be on show. The oldest car will date from the 1920s, while local dealers will show off the latest new cars on the day.

Local motorcycle racers will show off the race bikes they use in Mondello Park – it will be the first-time local racing bikes have gone on show in Kerry.

Display cars include several rally cars, like a Ford Focus World Rally Car, the Ford Escort Mk2 that won the Killarney Historic Rally in the hands of Rob Duggan and a BMW E30 M3 rally car.

4. Kerry hurlers in action…

After a disappointing opening league game for the Kerry hurlers last Sunday, losing to Westmeath by six points, the lads are back in action at home in Tralee.

They face Kildare at Austin Stack Park with an early 12.30pm throw-in. Get along and support the hurlers if you can. Tickets are available from www.Gaa.ie.
