AH the outdoors! With this weather it’s tempting to look at a career where you spend your time out in the fresh air.
Well Cappanalea Outdoor Education and Training Centre (OETC) are now recruiting for their highly rated Level 5 and Level 6 (Advanced) programmes which start in mid/late July.
Led by a team of experienced instructors, the Level 5 Outdoor Activity Instructor Traineeship is the ideal starting point for anyone who is interested in developing a career in the outdoor adventure tourism and education sector.
The Advanced Level 6 Outdoor Activity Instructor Traineeship is designed to upskill and enhance the employment opportunities for those working or training in the outdoor sector.
Trainees receive a range of professional certifications including:
LEVEL 5
REC Level 3 First Aid | Sea Kayaking Level 3 | River Kayaking Level 3 | Kayaking Level 1 Instructor | Single Pitch Award | Manual Handling | Mountain Skills | River Safety Rescue | Power Boat Operations | Child Welfare & Protection in Sport
LEVEL 6
REC Level 3 First Aid | Sea Kayaking Level 4 | Kayaking Level 2 Instructor | Canoeing Level 4 | Canoeing Level 2 Instructor | Orienteering Instructor | Rock Climbing Instructor (SPA) | Lowland Leader Award or Mountain Leader Training or Trail Cycle Leader Training | Sports Industry Practice
Level 5 graduates will seek entry level positions as assistant instructors in outdoor education centres, adventure tour companies and private enterprises. Level 6 (Advanced) graduates will have the skills to work in multi-activity organisations as instructors in OETCs, Adventure Centres, adventure tourism markets and in private enterprise.
The traineeship is fully funded, so no fees are payable. Both traineeship run for 46 weeks full time. Final day of interviews will take place on Wednesday 3rd July at Kerry ETB Training Centre. Apply online or at their Monavalley campus.
