THREE local charities benefitted from two fundraisers where the proceeds were presented on Tuesday evening.

At Recovery Haven Cancer Support House, Linda Ring from Farranfore was joined by her family to present €900 to the charity at its Haigs Terrace centre.

Just last month, Linda, with the support of her family, held a coffee morning at her house and raised an amazing €1,800. The money will be split between Kerry Cancer Support Services and Recovery Haven.

Linda decided to do the fundraiser as she used both facilities when she was receiving treatment for breast cancer. She thanked her family for their assistance with the coffee morning and the wider Farranfore community for their support.

At the presentation of the proceeds of a fundraiser at Corrib Oil were, in front; Marisa Reidy of Recovery Haven and Sean Hennessy of Corrib Oil. Back from left; Etain Usher of Tralee Food Aid, Tara McCoy, Melissa Barrett, Siobhan Powell and Joanne Hanafin.

Meanwhile, Recovery Haven also received €450 from another fundraiser, this time at Corrib Oil. The staff there had a draw for two hampers and split the proceeds between Recovery Haven and Tralee Food Aid, who also received two boxes of food from Corrib Oil and will receive food vouchers instead of the cash.
