YES, we know it’s still January, but there are still some things to do around town this weekend (well tomorrow to be precise).
Sunday
5k Fancy Dress Fun Run
Tralee Musical Society will be attempt to liven up what can be a bleak time of year when they take to the road for their 5k Fancy Dress Fun Run this Sunday.
The ‘gun’ will sound for the 5k run at the Wetlands at 11am. The theme of the run is musicals so participants are encouraged to dress up as characters from famous productions down through the years.
If they’re not already worn out from the run, Tralee Musical Society will perform a special show at the Wetlands afterwards along with refreshments. For more details click here
John Mitchels v Kerins O’Rahilly’s, Town League semi-final
It may be 2015, but there is still a few scores to settle from last year that have lingered on. After partaking in a pulsating and exciting draw in December, these two town rivals were forced to reschedule the fixture until after Christmas. Yet more backlogs and fixture headaches.
Still, with Austin Stacks waiting in the final on the following Sunday, there is a chance for O’Rahilly’s or Mitchels to get one over on their dear neighbours before they play their All-Ireland semi-final in three weeks time. Throw in is at 12.30pm at the Strand Road venue.
Bridal Fashion Show and Wedding Event
If you have a wedding on the way, the Fels Point Hotel on Sunday could the place to put your worries away and finally organise your dream day.
The whole thing gets underway at 12pm and will run all the way up until 6pm. On the day people can expect makeovers, live wedding entertainment along with a designer fashion show by Norma O’Donoughue Model Agency.
