Abbaesque will play as part of the 80s night in the Dome on Saturday, August 24.

ABBAESQUE, Ireland’s top tribute act to the legendary Abba, and Kerry’s favourite DJ Botty, will bring you a night of fun and nostalgia in the Festival Dome for a special 80s night on Saturday, August 24.

And while tickets are selling fast, organisers are enticing people to go out en masse for the event with a special offer of a free ticket for every five tickets purchased – buy 5 and get the 6th free!

The Communications Manager for the Rose of Tralee International Festival, John Drummey, said: “This is a night not to be missed. We’re going back to the future with a non-stop night of hits from Wham to The Communards to The Cure, to the Boomtown Rats to Duran Duran. The list is endless. Anyone who grew up in that era has the babysitter booked so they can relive their youth with friends in the Festival Dome.”

Of course it won’t just be the ‘oldies’ at the disco, as people who were born in the 80s and 90s also have a fondness for the music of that era and dressing up in 80s garb is encouraged.

Following the success of last year’s Oktoberfest event in the Dome, festivalgoers and party animals from far and wide are already planning to make this their main night out during this year’s 60th anniversary of the Rose of Tralee International Festival.

Tickets are €15 plus booking fee from www.roseoftralee.ie, the Rose of Tralee Office on Denny Street or at the door on the night. Doors open at 9.30pm so arrive early to get your table.
