Top Tralee Legal Firm Appoints New Partner

PROMINENT Tralee legal firm, Pierse McCarthy Lucey LLP Solicitors, are pleased to announce the recent promotion of Alex Hoffman as a partner in the firm, which is situated on Ashe Street.

Alex joined the firm in September 2018, having previously trained and worked with P.J. O’Driscoll & Sons, Solicitors in Cork City for 15 years, where he practised in the firm’s commercial & residential property, commercial/corporate, and banking/finance departments.

He now joins the existing partners, Risteard Pierse, Katie McCarthy and Niall Lucey, around the partnership table.

Originally from Annascaul, Alex graduated from the University of Limerick in 2003 with a Bachelor of Laws in Law & European Studies and qualified as a Solicitor in 2006. He subsequently studied with the Irish Taxation Institute and qualified as an AITI Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) in 2010.

Alex is the son of dairy farmers Robert and Sandra Hoffman of Annascaul and he has strong GAA connections through his wife, Kay Healy who is a Dingle-native and daughter of the late Pat Healy, former Chairman of Tralee Club Kerins O’Rahillys.

Alex and Kay have three young children who are enjoying life in the Kingdom. Alex’s sporting interests include Rugby, GAA, cycling and hillwalking.

Alex’s areas of expertise are Commercial Property, Banking & Finance, Landlord & Tenant, Corporate/Commercial and Insolvency & Restructuring. He also has considerable experience in the areas of Agricultural Law, Probate & the Administration of Estates, Taxation, as well as Residential Conveyancing.

Alex is also a Chartered Tax Advisor and tutored students of the Law Society of Ireland in the areas of business law, covering topics such as company formations, shareholders and subscription agreements, franchising and distribution agreements, agency, competition law, alternative dispute resolution, and share/assets sales.
