Top Writers And Broadcasters For Ballybunion Women In Media Event This Month

Miriam O’Callaghan will attend the Women In Media weekend in Ballybunion this month.

WOMEN in Media, the annual celebration of the most influential women working in the public eye, is set to take place again at Kilcooly’s Country House Hotel, Ballybunion, from Friday, April 15 to Sunday, April 17.

Women in Media is in its fourth year and aims to provide a forum for women to come together to discuss the achievements and challenges of women working in the media, sport, political and related industries.

The event, will feature a weekend of talks and debates with some of today’s top female figures in the Irish media including: Journalist and broadcaster Olivia O’Leary; RTE’s Miriam O’Callaghan; Author and peace ambassador Lorna Byrne: RTE’s Deputy Head of Television Sport, Cliona O’Leary and Irish Times columnist Roisin Ingle.

The Women in Media event specifically acknowledges the lifetime achievements of two ladies with strong links to Ballybunion; the late Mary Cummins, Irish Times journalist and Seanad Eireann reporter and the late Maeve Binchy, international successful novelist, who spent most of her teenage summers in Ballybunion.
