TOYS Upstairs Toymaster Tralee has teamed up with Adapt Kerry Women’s Refuge to help bring joy to children this Christmas.

It’s the first time the toy shop, located above Kellihers Hardware on Rock Street, is holding an appeal for Adapt Kerry.

“It’s a very worthy charity,” said Sharon Sheehan of Toys Upstairs. “Many of the women and children flee domestic violence in the home with just the clothes on their backs and we just want the children to have something on Christmas morning.”

“Back in the spring there was a TV documentary about Adapt and the work they do which really opened our eyes, so we wanted to work with them,” added Sharon.

People can buy vouchers for any amount which will be used to pay for the toys children requested on their letter to Santa, seen by the folks at Adapt, so they will get what they asked for on Christmas morning. Toys Upstairs will be accepting monies for vouchers right up until Christmas Eve.

Jessica Fox of Adapt Kerry thanked Toys Upstairs for choosing them this year and the public for their support of the campaign.

Santa Claus was on hand to help launch the appeal and to also launch the Santa Experience at the store which takes place on Saturdays and Sundays in the run-up to Christmas, beginning on November 26 and ending on December 18.
