Traffic Returns To Bridge Street/The Mall On Thursday Evening

Bridge Street and The Mall will reopen to traffic from 6pm to 10.30am daily from Thursday.

THE Mall and Bridge Street in Tralee will re-open to traffic on Thursday evening at 6.00pm following the completion of works costing approximately €1.7m as part of the Tralee Active Travel Town Project.

New taxi bye-laws have been in place since Tuesday and the part-pedestrianisation of The Mall will come into force on Thursday evening.

The Mall will be closed to through traffic from 10.30am to 6.00pm daily following the decision by Tralee Municipal District councillors to provide for the part-pedestrianisation of the area.

Kerry County Council is advising members of the public to be aware there will be through traffic on the Mall from Thursday between the hours of 6.00pm and 10.30am daily.

The taxi rank on the Mall will be operational from 7.00pm on Thursday evening and thereafter from 7pm to 7am daily.

The loading bay on the Mall will be operational for deliveries from Saturday morning (7am – 10.30am)

The Council has put up signage and road markings at each taxi rank.

Traffic wardens and gardaí will work together to ensure the public do not park in the designated spaces. The ranks are as follows;

Taxi Ranks

1. Bridge Lane (7 spaces all day/night)

2. Abbeycourt (8 spaces all day/night)

3. Edward Street (6 spaces all day/night)

4. Russell Street (3 spaces  6.30pm to 8.30am)

5. The Mall (4 spaces — 7pm to 7am)

6. Upper Castle Street (2 spaces — 6.30pm to 8.30am)

7. Abbey Car Park (7 spaces — 6.30pm to 8.30am)

8. Bridge Street (2 spaces — all day/night, 1 space — 7pm to 7am)
