IF you’re already pounding the road in a bid to get fit for 2020 then taking part in this event could be a goal to aspire to and in doing so raising money for Kerry Hospice.

Organised by Michelle Greaney of MG Coaching, the Tralee 10 miler returns for the third consecutive year and will bring together the ideal combination of club athletes and recreational runners over relatively flat fast courses taking in the outskirts of Tralee.

It will take place on Sunday, February 16 at 11am with participants gathering near The Rose Hotel. The event was launched at the hotel on Thursday with previous category winners and representatives from Kerry Hospice.

Michelle wished to thank The Rose Hotel, Bon Secours Hospital and Eamon Costello Ltd. for their sponsorship of the event.

The 10 Miler course features a short elevation at mile 5 and 6, but otherwise is an ideal course to get that personal best.

The 5k course claims to be the flattest in Munster and is a chip timed event. Marshalls and water stations will be present throughout the course

There will be bespoke medals for each participant, trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and female in both events, age category trophies for the 10 Miler and 5k and a cash bonus for winners of the 10 Miler.

Entry is €25 + €1.20c transaction fee for the 10 Miler and 5k entry is €12 + .50c transaction fee

The event capped at 300 participants — 10 miler (160), 5k (140) — so early registration is recommended if you don’t want to miss out.
