THE amazing talent of Tralee Art Group will be on display next month as they hold their annual exhibition of work at Tralee Library, Moyderwell.

This year the theme this is the commemoration of 1916, “Remember, Reflect, Reimagine”. It will contain a wonderful selection of paintings with a variety of interesting interpretations related to the theme. The exhibition will open at 6.30pm on Tuesday, June 7 and will run until June 30.

The group, which was formed in 1979,  is closely involved in the local community and a recent collaboration with KDYS students to create mosaics and murals for Baile Mhuire Day Centre in Tralee, has been hugely successful.

The group has 23 dynamic members, aged from 19 to 85 and meets monthly to plan exhibitions, listen to visiting speakers, discuss their work, arrange visits to artists and exhibitions, and engage in practical activities.

Having a long history, the group, Tralee Library and Siamsa Tire have all played an important part in the life of the group, and the annual exhibitions held in both venues have been the principal events of the group’s year.

As a result of these exhibitions, local people and visitors to the town purchases numerous paintings, and many works travel from Tralee to America and all over the world.
