Tralee Bay Swimming ClubEnglish Channel Relay

Club Member, Bernadette White from Tralee, is currently in Dover with the rest of her team Irish Deaf Channel Swimmers to take on a relay swim of The English Channel.

They have been training hard all year and the club wishes them the best of luck.

Portumna to Killaloe

A huge congratulations to club member Rosie Foley who hails from Killaloe. Rosie became the first person in togs to swim the 39km from Portumna , through Lough Derg and into Killaloe in a time of 13 hrs and 10 mins.

Water Temps

The water temperature in Fenit is currently 16c and very warm for June . The clarity of the water is as good as can be with clear visibility right to the bottom .

Wheel Rock Swim

The 3rd swim in Our World Series took place in fantastic conditions again. The course was from the beach, around the wheel rock and back.

Even though the water was calm, the tide was high, making sighting of the rock quite difficult. However all 68 of the swimmers finished with no problems.

James Slade led the way home with the fastest time of the night. After handicaps were applied results are Grp A 1) Daniel Doyle 2) Stephen Reidy 3) John Roche. Grp B 1) Paul Prendergast 2) John Fox 3) Donal Fitzgibbons. Grp C 1) John Brick 2) Declan Crowe 3) Leanne McCarthy.

Well done to all and many thanks to our Kayakers and safety crews. On the swimmer of the year table this puts Daniel Doyle and Paul Prendergast tied for 1st place with 11 points and Donal Fitzgibbons just behind them on 9 points.

There are still five races to go so it’s still anybody’s .
