The World Series

The weather has once again caused havoc with our swims resulting in the postponement of our Lighthouse Race . A new date has yet to be chosen as it is difficult to get the tides right for this tough swim.

With 2 races left in The World Series we have 2 people tied at the top of the table for Swimmer of the Year . Elaine Burrows Dillane and Sandra Byrne are both on 16 points .

Neil Fitzgibbons has made slate charge and is now tied with The consistent Sinead Kelliher in second place on 14 points . However there is a chasing pack of another c10 swimmers who could potentially still win it . The Swimmer of the Year will again not be decided until the final race !

The Crossbay Challenge 2016

The Derrymore to Fenit Challenge took place last Saturday in challenging conditions (see photos below) . This swim was put together to introduce our newer swimmers to long distance swimming .

The 23 swimmers who took part had been on a specific training plan for the last 2 months to built their stamina and endurance . All 23 swimmers managed to finish the challenge with flying colours .
