The 2015 swim nights are nearly upon us and we hope you have all wintered well . To this end , your club membership is now due and should be sorted out before the first swim, as we cannot guarantee registration on the night. You can give the form and money to any committee member . Please also indicate if you need a new race numbered hat . This will cost an extra 5 euro.
The handicaps are currently being done and we need this info .to ensure things go smoothly ! The club membership fee has increased to 50 euro for a competing member and 70 euro for a family . Non competing membership stays the same at 20 euro . This still represents excellent value for money and includes 8 competitive swims , 4 barbecues and great craic !
Help ……… With increasing numbers taking part every year we are being stretched to the limit for help . This is your club and we need your help . So , at the recent AGM it was decided that all competing members, MUST give up one swim night to help out with club duties.
You will still receive 1 point towards the Swimmer of The Year. There will be a form to download shortly on The Facebook Group Page and you can indicate which night you will help and choose which duty you wish to carry out ie Barbecue , Timing , Or Kayaking . The club has purchased 7 new kayaks and gear which brings our total to 10. If you wish to kayak on a night , we will be running a Kayak course with John Edwards in the next couple of weeks and you will have to do this . If you decide not to help out you will NOT be eligible for points or prizes .
Flag Day and Church Gate Collection…….. The Club Flag Day and Church Gate Collection takes place on 23mayand 30/31 May . Everybody who helps out for a slot will , as last year , receive 1 point towards The Swimmer Of The Year . Last year this one point almost made the difference between winning and losing ! So please help out !
Darkness into Light Swim ……. To coincide with The Pieta House fundraiser !Darkness into Light Walk/Run , we are proposing to hold a Darkness into Light Swim . More details during the week !
