A GREAT event to ‘warm’ up for the Christmas swim takes place in a couple of weeks in Fenit to raise funds for a great cause.
On Sunday December 9, members of Tralee Bay Swimming Club will host The Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Ireland.
This is a great organisation and previous fundraisers have enabled swimmers, including Tralee’s own Brendan O’Connell to travel to the LA Olympics and he returned home with a gold medal.

The organisers want to see everybody with their friends and family show up on the day and donate generously if they can. You don’t have to be a regular winter swimmer or even a swimmer.
Taking place at 11am, it will be a run in, get wet and get out…fast! Hot drinks and goodies for all participants, so please make an effort and support this wonderful event.
