Tralee Bay Wetlands has been made the shortlist by the Irish Responsible Tourism Awards.

HAVING made yet another television appearance last week when featured on the TG4 show ‘Duiche’, it’s another excellent end to the week this week for Tralee Bay Wetlands.

The centre has been made the shortlist for ‘Best in a Marine & Coastal Environment’ category by the Irish Responsible Tourism Awards. The ceremony for the awards will take place after the Responsible Tourism in Destinations conference (RTD9) on March 11.

It will be up against two other attractions in its category and these are ‘Dolphin Watch’ (Co Clare) and the ‘Blasket Islands Eco Marine Tours’ in Kerry.

While the majority of categories are tailored for the Irish market, there is a chance that some winners of these categories will automatically be shortlisted for the World Responsible Tourism Awards.

The jury for the awards will include representatives from the World Responsible Tourism Awards, Failte Ireland and NITB, the media, Irish academics and industry experts.

The winners will be announced at the event on Wednesday at Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Dublin.
