Tralee Bay Wetlands Seeks Artist For Project

TRALEE Bay Wetlands, with support from Creative Ireland, Kerry County Arts and the Local Authority Waters Programme, have an exciting opportunity for artists to create little homes, each depicting different aspects of the wetlands, as part of the Wetland’s Nature Trail.

Tralee Bay Wetlands Eco & Activity Park invites submissions from Visual Artists; to consult, design, make and install 8-10 little Homes of our Wetlands Wild creatures & plants for a Nature Trail. Each little home will depict a unique aspect of Tralee Bay Wetlands.

The artists applying will need to be interested in nature and experienced in working with natural materials.

These little house designs will engage children with a new innovative and creative nature trail at the Wetlands site. The aim is to offer fun, enjoyment, inspiration and to impart education regarding the natural environment, through the experience of their little creatures’ homes on the trail.

The total budget for artist’s fee, consultation, design, fabrication, installation, all associated travel and insurance costs, inclusive of VAT is €1,500.

Many natural materials will be available on site at Tralee Bay Wetlands and these will be made freely available on agreement of design and timeframe for delivery.
