Tralee Boxing Club news from Donie Jack Griffin…

Jonathan and Patrick McCarthy.

Johnathon McCarthy (44kg weight) will box in the Cadets Championship final on Friday July 28 in the National Stadium Dublin.

Tralee Boxing Club is hoping his cousin Patrick (48kg), the reigning Irish Champion, will be alongside him as he boxes next Friday, July 21 in semi-final.

The Cadets are the pick of Ireland and only the winner and runner-up of each province take part, so there are no easy bouts.

Both McCarthy boys are training hard for these titles since they won their Munster Titles in March this year.

Johnathon will box a fighter from Co. Donegal whom he beat in quarter final of the National Titles, while Patrick boxed and beat Sean Ruth from Marble City B.C..

Next up for Patrick is Fiontan Laughlin (St Pauls). Hopefully both boys will do the business and bring home two more National Titles which will add to what was a very successful year for Tralee Boxing Club.
