BOXERS from Limerick, Tipperary, Cork and Kerry entered Tralee Boxing Club gym on Sunday afternoon for some cracking bouts in the club’s annual tournament.
Rathkeale Boxing Club brought a strong team of seven boxers going home with five wins Sliabh Luchra Castleisland had three from three with Dean Martin, Paul Browne, Liam Walsh taking the honors.
Tipperary were well represented from Chris Towmey’s stable with outstanding girls and boys for the coming season. Jordan Goggin looked good from the local Ballyduff BC, as did a few from Tralee Boxing Club.

“Win lose or draw, it was a great starter for the season ahead and boxers were glad to open up and clear the airways for the coming weeks which include shows in Castleisland, Ballyduff, Limerick league, Galwat trip, Kerry Championship, Munster Championship, and for the chosen few the National Stadium,” said Donie Jack Griffin of Tralee Boxing Club.
“Tralee Boxing Club would like to thank Boxers, Coaches, Refs, Judges, and anyone who helped in anyway to make our day a success,” he added.
