It was a long drive from Dungarvan after our Irish Champion Patrick McCarthy was beaten in semi-final of the Munster Championships.
Patrick is not boxing as he did last year and a good opponent in Ger McDonagh Glen Boxing club Cork, took hiss chance.
Patrick is at it full trottle now since Christmas 2016 and maybe it was time he was beaten. A great year last year was never going to be bettered this year, however onwards and upwards and he can still defend his Irish Title.
In next week’s Munster finals is Tommy Kenny 60kg Youth 2. Mike McCarthy 50kg Youth 1 and Johnathon McCarthy 48kg Youth 1. So back into the gym and some serious work to be done.
