Tralee Childcare Providers Show Support For Protestors In Dublin

Educators at Mounthawk Montessori School & Busy Bees Nursery and Maureens Preschool, Casements Avenue, showing solidarity with the protestors in Dublin.

STAFF at local preschools in Tralee showed solidarity with fellow professionals who are protesting in Dublin today.

Thousands of childcare providers, educators, and parents took part in the protest in the capital as part of their campaign for greater funding in the sector and better pay for educators.

The team at Mounthawk Montessori School & Busy Bees Nursery and Maureens Preschool, Casements Avenue, are standing with the protestors.

“Many of our team are qualified with Degrees, QQI Level 5 & 6, while I myself have a Master of Science & a HDipA and well as a degree,” said Susan Quirke Crowley , Director of Mounthawk Montessori School & Busy Bees Nursery.

“We along with all practitioners in our sector are seeking equality for early years education , we are not second class citizens. As teachers of young children, we hold the future of the country in the palm of our hands. We call on the Minister to acknowledge this and give us our due!” she said.

The protest in Dublin was organised by Together for Early Years, an umbrella group of the Association of Childhood Professionals, the Federation of Early Childhood Providers, the National Community Childcare Forum, the National Childhood Network, Seas Suas and SIPTU.
