Tralee Clubs Get €245,000 In Sports Capital Grants

SEVEN Tralee sports clubs will receive Sports Capital Grants totalling €245,000.

Labour TD, Arthur J. Spring has welcomed the government’s announcement which covers clubs in a diverse range of sports.

The clubs to benefit are:

• Austin Stacks Hurling & Football Club €65,000
• County Kerry Cricket Club €9,000
• St Brendan’s Park FC €55,000
• Tralee Boxing Club €10,000
• Tralee Gymnastics Club €50,000
• Tralee Harriers Athletic Club €44,000
• Tralee Triathon Club €12,000

“I welcome the awarding of these grants. Sports clubs play a major role in society providing facilities for people of all ages to participate in their chosen activity,” said Deputy Spring.

“All the benefactors – Austin Stacks GAA Club, County Kerry Cricket Club, St. Brendan’s Park Football Club, Tralee Boxing Club, Tralee Gymnastics, Tralee Harriers Athletic Club and Tralee Triathlon Club – promote fitness, team work and social inclusion in the community and the Government values their overall contribution to Society. These successful applying clubs will now enhance their facilities to further the enjoyment of their participating members and promote the growth of the clubs’ chosen sports,” he said.
