Another weekend of Medals for Tralee Harriers Athletic Club.

Today was the turn of our Senior and Master athletes, with the finishing of the Junior competitions.

Six Medals were claimed Sunday at the Munster Senior and Masters Indoor Championships in Nenagh

Rachel Bowler was the clubs top athlete of the day with a hat trick of Silvers.

Rachel was just pipped at the post in the Senior Long Jump finishing in second place with a jump of 5.29m, her hop skip and jump in the Junior womens Triple Jump of 10.30m secured her a second silver.

The third was a hard fought sprint to the finish line taking second in the Senior womens 200m in a time of 26.56sec. Rachel’s next stop will be Nationals in two weeks and we wish her and her Sandpit buddy Aoibheann the very best of luck.

Eoin O’Carroll was back in Nenagh today to try his hand at the Senior Long Jump and the 60m. Eoin did very well in the Long Jump and getting closer to that 7m mark with each jump. his jump of 6.79m was enough to hold on to the second spot.

Eoin competed in the heats of the Senior mens 60m and though qualified easily for the final, a sligh injury caused him to withdraw from the final, a wise decision with National Championships around the corner.

Wishing Eoin a speedy recovery.

Patsy O’Connor was the last of the club athletes attending Nenagh today. Patsy was competing in the O60’s mens events.
Patsy as always stood out in his age group in the shot put, taking Gold with a throw of 13.87 with second throwing 10.63.

***THIS IS ALSO A NEW MUNSTER CBP*** WELL DONE PATSY***

Patsy also competed in the 60m. This was a thrilling race with top three crossing the line together.

Photofinish was called and sadly Patsy ended up in third place on time of 8.99. Patsy is a true athlete and is showing that throwers can be track athletes too. We also wish Patsy the very best of luck in his upcoming Nationals.

So that is 3 athletes, 1 Gold, 4 Silver and a Bronze

Congratulations to all the athletes who have competed at Munster events, the past two weekend. looking forward to reporting on your successes at nationals.
