Tralee Harriers Ladies shine in Bronze at National Seniors

Three Tralee Harriers athletes competed in the Irish Life Health National Senior Indoor Championship at the new The Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena in Dublin last weekend.

Aoibheann O’Brien was first up and first to the podium to get her medal. She took Bronze in the Long Jump with a jump of 5.57m.

Solange Diogo followed Aoibheann to the podium by taking a bronze in the Triple Jump 11.24m. This was only just .04cm shy of a silver medal.

Both girls are now ranked 3rd in the national rankings, in the respective jumps so great work.

Rachel Bowler was also taking part in both events and finished a very credible 5th in both events; this is a great achievement for an athlete who is still ranked a Juvenile, Rachel is sure to make the podium in the coming weeks in the U19 age group.

AWARDS

Conor Commane U14 attended the Kerry Sports Star Awards in the INEC in Killarney on Friday night. He was honoured with the Kerry Juvenile Athlete of the Year award.

Rachel Bowler U18 left the Long Jump pit in Dublin on Saturday and headed to Tullamore to attend the Emerald Crystal AAI Sport star awards. Rachel was honoured with the National award for Kerry Juvenile Athlete of the Year Award, before returning to Dublin to take part in the Triple Jump on Sunday.

Well done to both athletes
