Tralee imperials basketball team U16 girls represented Kerry in the all Ireland B competition in Carlow this weekend , great performance by the girls but touch competition left them in 5th place overall.
Our under 16 girls travelled to the AICC’s in Carlow at the weekend and had a very enjoyable weekend.
They played Letterkenny Blaze in the first game on Saturday Morning and unfortunately lost 39-32 which meant they were unlikely to top the group.
Up next were Longford Falcons and they disposed of these easily winning 51-11. Not topping the group meant they had to play their third game on Saturday evening against the host club Old Leighlin, this was a very good game in which they pulled through in the end to win 30-23.
This meant they were in the 5th and 6th play off on Sunday at 12-00 noon against Donegal Town. They started very well in this game and built up a lead from the start and held the lead throughout the 4 quarters to win 44-28 and every player on the squad got court time.
