Tralee LEA COVID Cases Decrease Slightly In Fortnight Up To Monday

THE number of new COVID-19 cases dropped slightly in the Tralee Local Electoral Area in the 14 day period up to Monday, November 30.

There were 394  new confirmed cases in that period compared to the 413 in the fortnight up to Monday, November 22, according to figures available on the Government’s COVID-19 data hub.

Tralee LEA has a 14-day incidence rate of 1,192.6 (down from 1250) per 100,000 of the population, but it’s still below the national incidence of 1,316.9 per 100,000 as of last Monday. The incidence rate in Kerry is 1,046.7 per 100,000, the fifth lowest in the country.

In all, there were 1,546   new cases recorded in Kerry during the fortnight period, down  from the 1,777 cases recorded in the fortnight up to November 22.

The LEA with the highest incidence in the county is still the Killarney Electoral Area, which saw 488 new cases, a current 14-day incidence rate of 1648 per 100k of the population. It the only LEA in Kerry above the national average.

The Castleisland LEA saw 183 new cases and a rate of 1067.4 per 100,000. Listowel saw 239 new cases and a rate of 833.5 per 100,000.

Kenmare LEA had 273 new cases, a rate of 726 per 100,000, the seventh lowest in the country, having been in the top ten highest rates a few weeks ago.

The Corca Dhuibhne Local Electoral Area saw 182 new cases and a rate of 648.8 per 100,000, the third lowest in the country.

There have been 14,370 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Kerry, since the pandemic began according to the latest data.
