Tralee LEA Had Nine New COVID Cases In 14 Day Period Up To Tuesday

THERE were nine new COVID-19 cases in the Tralee Local Electoral Area reported in the 14 day period up to Tuesday, May 3, according to data provided by the HSE and Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC).

It’s the electoral area with the largest amount of cases and the most per head of population in the county during that period, at 27.2 per 100,000 of population, but it’s less than one fifth of the national incidence rate.

Listowel LEA saw seven cases, or 24.4 per 100,000 of the population and Killarney LEA  saw five new cases in the same period, or 16.9 per 100,000 of the population.

Meanwhile Kenmare, Corca Dhuibhne and Castleisland Local Electoral Areas saw less than five cases each in the 14 day period. These areas are not allocated an incidence rate for COVID-19 as a result.

All electoral areas are well below the national incidence rate of 134.1 per 100,000 of population.
