A TRALEE man is going to abseil down Croke Park to raise awareness of a mental health support organisation.

Mike Edgar, a student in IT Tralee, decided to take on the challenge because he is passionate about the issue of mental health.

The former Mercy Mounthawk student has set up a gofundme page for the challenge and he hopes people contribute to help out Jigsaw, the mental health support facility for young people.

“I have been volunteering with Jigsaw for almost two years and I am amazed by how much work they do for young people all over the country,” said Mike on the gofundme page.

“I want to help raise money and awareness in any way I can for both Jigsaw and the subject of mental health in general. That’s why I have decided to take part in the Jigsaw Croke Park Abseil 2018.  The more people that know about Jigsaw, the greater their impact,” he adds.

The challenge aims to raise over €30,000 to support Jigsaw’s work delivering a range of services improving the lives of young people experiencing mental health difficulties.

The abseiling event takes place on Saturday, April 28  and Mike is one of 60 people taking part. You can help his campaign by clicking here for the gofundme page
