THE news just gets better and better for Tralee’s Timothy V Murphy as he has just scored a role in the hugely popular HBO drama ‘True Detective’ alongside fellow Irish man Colin Farrell.

Murphy, a native of Oakpark, is an award-winning star of stage and screen, and is set to play Russian gangster Osip Agranov in the series.

He is getting a reputation as a great bad guy, having previously starred as Galen O’Shay in FX’s “Sons of Anarchy” series which earned him a BuzzFocus Reader’s Choice Award and also played the villain in CBS’ crime drama “Criminal Minds.”
