Tralee Municipal District Allocates €159,000 To Community Organisations

The Tidy Tralee Together group, marching here in the St Patrick’s day parade, has received €5,000 in funding from the Tralee Municipal District, while the St Patrick’s Day parade has received €6,000.

TRALEE Chamber Alliance has received €57,000 from Kerry County Council to help continue the work of marketing the town.

The Alliance’s funding made up over a third of the Community Support Fund total of over €159,000, allocated to many Tralee Municipal District area organisations. The €57,000 equalled the amount allocated to the Chamber last year.

The Alliance thanked the authority on their Facebook page yesterday which read: “We wish to thank Kerry County Council Tralee Municipal District for their continued support of Tralee Chamber Alliance and their financial input for the coming year.”

The Féile na mBláth event, which takes place in a couple of weeks, has received €16,000, some of which is towards the Munster Pipe Band championships which takes place the weekend after.

A sum of €6,000 has been allocated towards the St Patrick’s Day parade, Friends Of Able/Towards A Better Tralee receives €6,000 and Tidy Tralee Together gets €5,000.

Tralee Rowing Club has received €5,000 towards building a state of the art launching facility and the Kerry Film Festival got €3,000. Many other organisations in Tralee and beyond received smaller amounts.
