After discussion with Mr Young it was decided to auction it on Radio Kerry in conjunction with the annual Christmas Jumper Day in aid of St Vincent De Paul. The successful bidder was Paddy O’Carroll.

The €400 raised has been added to the Christmas Jumper Day fundraising, the tally for which currently stands at €9,000.

Patrick Young was born in Tralee in the 1950s. He emigrated to England where he set up Young Homes Limited, a development company based in Liverpool.

He hopes one day to return to Tralee to develop areas of his native home town. Patrick has sponsored events at The Rose of Tralee International Festival in the past couple of years and looks forward to doing so again in 2020.
