Tralee Opera Singer To Make Debut At New York Met Tonight

A TRALEE mezzo-soprano will realise a dream of all opera singers when she makes her debut at the New York Metropolitan Opera House tonight.

The Oakpark Demesne native will appear as Stéphano in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette in performances over the next fortnight.

Paula Murrihy has already appeared at prestigious venues all over the world including London’s Royal Opera House, Teatro Comunale, Bologna and Oper Frankfurt to name but a few in a range of roles.

She receives ecstatic reviews everywhere she goes and that’s sure to be repeated on stage over the next couple weeks. The Met is one of the most sought after venues for singers so tonight should be a special one for Paula.
