Parnells Camogie Win:
Well done to the under 15 Tralee Parnells Camogie team on winning your match against Kilworth in East Cork on Saturday in the Avondhu North Cork Divisional Camogie League.

It was well worth the journey to this lovely village near Fermoy to see these girls do themselves justice in ideal playing conditions at the fine facilities in Kilworth GAA club.

Arriving for warm up, the Tralee girls were delighted to see the new hurling wall at the site and took the opportunity to warm up with a few wall ball drills.  We look forward to the day when our players will not have to travel for these kind of facilities.

From early on it was clear this had the potential to be a high scoring encounter.  The final tally of 6-7 to 5-2 shows how free flowing the game was and it was great to see so many of our players get on the score sheet.

Yasmin made some great saves and guarded her square well to repulse several attacks.  In the latter stages she switched to the forwards and contributed to many attacks.  On the back line Katie and Aoife were stalwart and Katie contributed in the midfield play later on while Aoife did a composed turn in goals.

Clodagh Begley and Clodagh O Sullivan defended well and turned around many Kilworth forays to mount repeated counter attacks.   In lár na páirce Kate Lynch and Saoirse were tireless and telling in their play and both were singled out for praise by the opposition mentors after the final whistle.

In the forwards, Hannah, Anna, Chloe and Caoimhe were a constant threat and took many fine scores, added to by Kate from midfield.

Overall an excellent display, with vital competitive game time that  these players thrive on.  After the hospitiable reception and sporting game we got from Kilworth, Tralee invited the Cork girls to a challenge match return fixture, so keep an eye out for details if this can be arranged.

Winning Kerry Minors From Parnells Gene Pool:
Congratulations to the Kerry minor footballers who completed a 4 in a row in Croke Park. Special mention to Diarmuid O’Connor, Ciaran O Reilly, Ryan O Neill and Brian Lonergan, all these lads have hurled with Tralee Parnells in their time.

Parnells Mention in Hurling Media:
At our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/TraleeParnellsHurlingClub/ we have linked an article by Anthony Daly where he has many things to say about the future prospects of Kerry hurling and it is interesting to read his mention of Tralee Parnells in that context.
