Veronica Stack Camogie Tournament:
On Saturday the annual Veronica Stack Camogie Tournament in Killarney in Dr. Crokes GAA complex with 12 clubs attending from Cork and Kerry and approximately 300 players in attendance.

Veronica helped set up Killarney Camogie Club so a lovely tribute to her over the last few years since she passed away.

Well done to all the Tralee girls who were able to play in the Tournament at Killarney. We had a very young panel of 13 girls who played fantastic camogie against very strong U9’s teams.

We played 3 matches and got better as the competition progressed with a great win in their last game. A great result for the last outing of the season! Well done too to the two Anna’s and Bridget who had a great experience playing U12’s today.

The season is now over, hope to see you all back next April and at the awards night Nov 17th Rose Hotel. Thank you to all the mentors and parents that helped during the year.

It was a pleasure to work with such a great bunch of girls who have come on so well and I hope you all had fun!! Thanks from Suzanne.

Minor Hurling League Div 1B Final:

The Kerry Minor Hurling League Division 1 B Final will be played on Monday October 30th  @ 2 pm between Kilmoyley and O’Dorney/Parnells (Toss for venue).  This will be the last outing of 2017 for the Parnells players on this minor panel.  Good luck to Tadhg Brick, Cathal Dunne, Brian Lonergan, Johnny Downey, Barry Lyons, Darragh Reen, Ruari O’Sullivan.

Under 12 Camogie End of Season:
Veronica Stack Memorial Tournament 2017.  Our Parnell’s U12 Camogie team took part in their last fixture of the year with 3 of our U9s throwing in to the mix.

We were pitted against Cork clubs who were more established and this showed from the start of this end of year show put on by Killarney Camogie club, in group 2 facing Millstreet, Mallow, Clonakilty and Midleton.

For some of this Camogie squad this was there last outing in this competition at U12 having attended for the last 3 years or so our new U9s group will now carry the torch at this event (for other to join in the fun day).

Facing difficult teams so late in the year is not easy from a coaching/player prospective but it’s the learning of this is what helps for both. The Midleton coach spoke words of wisdom at the end of the game to the squad and highlighted our U9s display, also added in their youngest had just turned 11 yrs. of age.

He commented on the bravery and commitment to tackling and blocking they had already and the fact they didn’t give up in the battles.  On a day of the last rotations goalies and captains all of this squad shared these positions throughout the year and fitting that they did it today (14-10) also.

We were down numbers in coaches and players in this event but of the 13 die hards who travelled, they all had a great day.  In coaching the most of this group for 3yrs or so it’s been a pleasure, until I get the name’s wrong and they let YOU know it believe me.

This was the last outing for some (at this level), moving up an age group and possible entry into a County jersey is on the way shortly if they choose to do so. I look forward to seeing you all in the spring for Club or County.

Awards Night 2017:
Tralee Parnells awards night for our hurling and camogie teams will take place on Friday the 17th November in the Rose Hotel from 7 pm.

Camogie Under 14s Recognized at Austin Stack Park:
