Great Workshop at IT Tralee:
It was very heartening to see the large number of both experienced and novice coaches who turned out from all over the county at IT Tralee Friday to participate in the excellent workshop organised by David O Dea.

The half hour talk went down very well from Martin Fogarty the current National Hurling Development Manager and former Kilkenny senior hurling selector and coach. We could have listened to Martin for hours, but he was anxious to move on the the practical sessions out doors on the IT Astroturf.

Martin led the session for coaches or primary age players, while Ian Brick put the Parnells 14s and 16s through there paces on a coaching session that showed the buildups of drills and games based coaching. Good work David, an enjoyable and informative evening.

Academy Now On, Tuesdays u6 to 12:

As usual Equipment is available to borrow and all boys and girls are welcome so existing players should bring a friend to try it out.

Minors Challenge Game:
Minor mentors hope to organise challenge games starting in March, so important to keep the numbers up at training this month.

Gearing Up:
A fine stock of sliotars and hurleys on Facebook by David got plenty of likes.  They will all be needed before too long as more age groups go back training.  On the Camogie side, U14 and older will start back Friday March 2, while U12 and younger will start back Friday April 6.

Many Thanks Tom and Eileen:
At Parnells recent club meeting we heard the news that Tom and Eileen O’Shea were soon to spend their last night behind Charlie’s Bar at Kerins O’Rahilly’s Clubhouse.  On behalf of all at Parnells we thank you both for your kindness and hospitality and wish you the very best as you move on from your duties at Kerins O’Rahilly’s Clubhouse.
