Successful Spring 7s Camogie U17 Blitz in Tralee:

Teams from Clare, Cork, Limerick and Kerry Camogie clubs took part in a very successful  action packed series of 6 Blitz matches each at the Tralee Parnells invitational Spring 7s Blitz at Caherslee Road GAA Grounds in Tralee on Saturday the 21st of April.

Causeway, Cillard and Tralee Parnells competed from Kerry, while Newcastle West, Adare, Sixmilebridge and 2 teams from Sliabh Rua Camogie Club in Cork made it a total of 8 teams participating for an action packed series of 24 matches in the course of the Saturday afternoon across 4 pitches.

Congratulations to the Cillard and  Sliabh Rua teams, winners of the Gold and Silver trophies on the day.  This was a brilliant opportunity for our players to get the game time they need and also a great way to build up our relationships with other clubs who might hopefully be able to reciprocate our invitations in time to come.

Scór:

Well done to our young Tralee Parnells Scór quiz team who came 2nd in the County finals. The team was Oisin O’Sullivan, Liam Cooper, Peter Doyle, Donnacha Buttimer.

Kerry Camogie Under 8 and 10 Blitz:

A message from Parnells Camogie management on Facebook; Well done to all the girls who were able to play in Saturday’s U8’s & U10’s Tralee Parnells Camogie blitz. You all played great Camogie, had fun and all the mentors are so proud of you all. Thanks to all the Camogie teams who traveled to make it a great day for everybody.  It was overflow parking along Caherslee road as under 8 and under 10 teams arrived from 9:30 am onward from all 4 Kerry Camogie clubs as well as from Wolfe Tones Shannon in Clare, Monaleen and Newcastle West in Limerick, as well as the home club of Camogie star Anna Geary, Milford from North Cork.  With 6 pitches continuously in action simultaneously, it was a feast of wall-to-wall Camogie action throughout the Blitz.  See our Facebook pages Parnells for some nice photos and messages from the various clubs following a great day of Camogie.

Tralee Parnells Camogie under 14 team:
Our Tralee Parnells Camogie under 14 team are off to Féile, the first ever time for our young club to go to Camogie Féile. This is a unique opportunity for this very lucky group of players. Now the club wants make sure they are well prepared and equipped, to the high standard expected at Féile.
To help us fund the transport, equipment and other costs of the trip, we are now seeking commercial and corporate sponsors who could help us meet these ambitious goals.
Can Parnells families please pass on this message to any local business who you think might be able to help us in this funding drive. We will be very happy to acknowledge our sponsors among our families and in our social media, club notes carried in local print media, on our blog etc.
Anyone who would like more information, please make contact and we will provide further details.

Under 16 Boys Fixture:

U16 County league Div 2 semi final, St. Brendans v Tralee Parnells.  Date: Thursday, 26th April 2018. Time: 6.45 pm. Venue: Ardfert.

Under 14 Girls train with Tipp Senior Camogie Panel:

Tralee Parnells Camogie under 14s were very kindly invited by Killarney Camogie Club to a training session they organised with the Tipp senior Camogie Panel in Fossa Saturday. A great opportunity, many thanks to Killarney.

Minors:

Lixnaw had too much for our minors in the second half Sunday.  The low half time score of 5 points to 3 probably flattered Parnells who started with the wind and Lixnaw would have had first half goals without a couple of good saves from Devon in goals.  Lixnaw stretched their lead in the second half and a couple of late sallies by the visitors were not enough to threaten the result.  Next fixtures now depend on other results.
