Well Done Mount Brandon Climbers:
Many thanks to Dermot, who organised our excellent guide Gerry, also Terry O’S who was our back-marker, Maria and Siobhan who car-pooled us to Faha and all those who helped the Tralee Parnells Camogie Féile players make it to the Summit of Brandon Sunday. Well done all and many thanks to their climb sponsors.

Under 12s Vs Lixnaw:
On Friday evening our U12 Div 1 team had their second last outing of this 1st phase of the Kerry Hurling League v Lixnaw in Lixnaw. Parnells played against the wind in the first half and against a very talented Lixnaw team they were 6 pts down at half time.

On resumption of the second half Parnells playing with the wind took the game to Lixnaw. With strong performances throughout the field Parnells took back the lead.

Good team work and passing moves resulted in Parnells finding the net for all important goals. Parnells winning on the final score of Lixnaw 3-8 Tralee Parnells 5-7. Some great scores were taken by both sides throughout this game.

Under 14 County League:
Our U14’s had a huge win over an under strength South Kerry team in the County league Saturday evening. A week after losing to the same opposition in the Féile final it was great to see our our lads
bounce back with a comprehensive win.  Well done lads and keep it going for the rest of the year.

Mounthawk U15s:
Congrats to Mercy Mounthawk U15 boys hurlers who won the schools first ever Munster hurling title today. Parnells were well represented with Eddie Sheehy, Evan Foley, Niall Cassidy, Cillian Litchfield and former player Joey Nagle (time for a comeback).  We’ll done to all involved.

Kerry U17 hurlers:
Good win by the Kerry U17 hurlers away to West Cork Wednesday evening in the Celtic Challenge. Parnells were represented by Darragh Reen, Ruarí O Sullivan and Devon Burns who got the man of the match award. Thats two wins from two in the competition.  Final score Kerry 3 – 14 West Cork 1-13

Cumann na mBunscoil:
On Tuesday the 15th of May Tralee Parnells will host our first Tralee area Cumann na mBunscoil Blitz. The following schools will take part in this event.
Moyderwell
Tralee CBS
Holy Family

Caherleheen x2
This is a major step in the clubs efforts to promote Hurling and Camogie in the area and is only possible through the outstanding work by South Kerry GDA David O Dea.

Hurling Workshop for Coaches u6 to Minor:
On Saturday 12th at ITT it was great to see so many Parnells volunteer Camogie and Hurling coaches at the workshop. The workshop was ably facilitated by former Kerry Captain John ‘Tweek’ Griffin. who made an interesting, fun and useful presentation. We also had great forwards and backs coaching tips sessions with Michael Kiely All-Ireland winning coach with Limerick U-21s and former Limerick hurler Gavin O’Mahoney.  Many thanks to David O’Dea for organising.
