Under 13 Boys:
Well done to our Under 13s who fought back from 2 goals down with two mins to play to draw with Causeway in the North Kerry U13 competition in Caherslee on the 31st.  Playing with a strong breeze our lads lead at half time 0-05 to 1-01. Causeway started the second half much the stronger and raced into a 2-05 to 0-05 lead. With 10 mins to go our lads started to battle their way back into the game and did everything apart from score. Just when the game seemed lost two moments of magic from David Chute and Oran Murphy leveled the game.
Well done to both teams for playing out an entertaining game.

Under 14 Camogie:
Good luck to the Tralee Parnells girls travelling on the Kerry panel to the Kilkenny intercounty blitz.

Under 12 Boys:

Well done to our U12 boys who performed very in the North Kerry blitz in Lixnaw on the 28th. Despite a number of players missing our lads played well in all 4 games and the coaches were happy the run out.

We defeated Crotta, lost by a single score to Lixnaw and Ballyduff and also lost to a very good St Brendans team. Great preparation for phase 2 of the County League. Well done to Tweek Griffin and his team for running the blitz.

Under 16 Boys:

On Sunday July 22nd a depleted Tralee Parnells Team took on Lixnaw in the U16 Championship Plate Quarter Final. The game had to be rescheduled a number of times due to various conflicts and although Parnells were to have home advantage the game was played in Lixnaw due to prior bookings on the Caherslee pitch. Many thanks to the Lixnaw mentors who were very accommodating with the rescheduling and venue.
Parnells were missing a number of players through injuries, holidays etc. and could only field 12 players on the day. Lixnaw matched the Parnells line up and used a number of subs throughout the game.

Lixnaw started the game brighter and notched up a few scores before Parnells found their rhythm. Both sides battled hard but fair in the heat and produced a high level or hurling. Every player gave 100% and contributed to a very impressive overall team performance. It would be very difficult to single out individual performances but special mention should be given to Darragh Maloney, an U14 player who turning in a man of the match performance at U16.

Parnells were 1 point up with a couple of minutes to go when Mike Kelliher from Lixnaw scored two individual goals which turned the game. Although Parnells battled hard, scored some fine points and had a number of goal chances were unable to close the deficit.

Final score Parnells 3:11, Lixnaw 5:7.
Although out of the Championship, a very fine performance from Parnells considering the circumstances.

North Kerry U16 Championship starts on 9th September and we urge all U16 players to continue training with the minors on Thursday nights in Caherslee. U14’s continue with their own training on Friday nights.
Finally, a word of thanks to the players for their dedication and commitment – well done – you’re fine representatives of Parnells.
