Well Done Kerry Under 14 Camogie:

At the GAA Complex in Abbotston near Dublin, the Kerry Under 14 Camogie team had a great run at the All Ireland Camogie Blitz Saturday. Kerry first played Wicklow and after a close first half, emerged winners of game 1.  Next were Tyrone who gave us a very close match that ended in a draw.  The final group game against Cavan was won next to put Kerry top of group A and facing B runners up Westmeath on the smaller pitch 3 in the semi Final. After some good scoring, Kerry faced B winners Mayo who had overcome A runners up Wicklow with late goals.  The teams were close at half time and into the second half when Mayo opened a 4 point gap.  The Munster side dug deep and a late Kerry goal reduced the margin to the minimum but Mayo held on by a point to lift the cup. Well done Kerry Camogie getting so close, the final was their first defeat all day and the performances in the 5 matches showed how far they have come and how much the team have progressed under manager and assistant manager Kevin O’Sullivan and Mike Corridon.  It has been a busy County under 14 Camogie season with a dozen Parnells training since the spring with Kerry.  Great commitment shown by players and management attending training and blitzes in Knockaderry, Mallow, Kilkenny, Borrisoleigh and 6 Tralee Parnells Camogie players selected on this panel to go to the All Ireland Blitz in Dublin.

U16 North Kerry B:

Good start for our Under 16s in the North Kerry B Championship against Kilmoyley, both teams were missing starters but Parnells were stronger on the day and ran out winners. Final score 3-10 to 0-07

Bye next week so all players should make the effort to attend training.

Under 10 Boys Blitz in Tralee:

Thanks to all teams that attended the latest North Kerry under 10 blitz in Caherslee today. Ballyheigue were impressive winners of Group 1 with Crotta easily winning Group 2.

As a club it was an achievement to be able to put out a full Under 10 and a full Under 9 team today. While not all results went our way today the players should all be very proud of the level of hurling they displayed.

Well done to our boys for all the effort they put in today and over that last few weeks. We also want to thank all the parents and club members who helped organise the event. Thanks also to John Ross for organising the refs.

We’re off to Clonlara Co Clare next weekend.

Under 12 Boys:
U12 Div 1 Crotta A 2-09 v Parnells 1-06

Crotta were the sharper team Friday evening and fully deserved their win, too many frees for minor things prevented a free flowing game however.

U12 Div 3 Crotta B 4-3 v Parnells 1-02

Damage was done in the first half where Crotta scored 4-01, our lads played well but couldn’t put away their goal chances.

26 players togged out between the two teams and plenty more under 10s were rested for the Saturday blitz so still a positive evening.

Under 8 Boys:
Well done to all the U8’s who played Abbeydorney Friday evening in Caherslee. Both teams played really well.
