U14 Boys Win South Kerry Hurling League:
Congratulations to our U14s who finished out their year in style with victory over St Pats/Dr Crokes in the South Kerry final this week in Caherslee. Condition were far from ideal for any sport let alone hurling. Playing with the storm our lads held an 8 point lead at half time playing. It was time to batten down the hatches for the second 25 mins and despite a few hairy moments our lads held out with some heroic defending. Final score 2-05 to 2-04. Well done to the players and their coaches Dermot Reen, Ollie Broughton and Stephen Buttimer. We lost the Feile Final to the same opposition earlier in the year so nice to win this one. This South Kerry U14 hurling League Div 1 Final was played Tuesday 18th Sept in Caherslee.

Successful Parnells Camogie Autumn Blitz U15-17:
Tralee Parnells were delighted to host panels from Causeway, CillArd and Tournafulla at our 9-aside, U15-17 autumn blitz on Saturday September 22 at Caherslee GAA Park, Tralee. Each team had 3 mages in a round robin that started at 1 pm, which led to A and B finals around 4 pm. Well done to all who participated, this was a great chance for these girls to get 4 valuable competitive matches. Congratulations to Causeway A and Tournafulla B winners on the day. Many thanks to the club members and supporters who brought along healthy snacks and helped in pitch setup and tidy-up.

Camogie U12 Champions Killarney and Causeway:
Congratualtions to 2018 under 12 County League division 1 winners Killarney and division 2 winners Causeway. Killarney went in as underdogs and pulled off a surprise win at Crotta on Sunday the 16th.

Playing with the wind, Killarney took an early lead and maintained their advantage in the second half to unexpectedly emerge as 2018 winners. This win is great encouragement for the other Killarney age groups and also for Tralee players, to see how training, commitment and teamwork can produce great things when you stick at it.

In the opening fixture, Causeway opened the scoring playing with the wind and deserved to be ahead at the interval.  However, Tralee Parnells under 12 girls, in one of their best halves of hurling this year, put Causeway under severe pressure in the second half, forcing play mostly into the Causeway half and creating several chances that lead to an early well taken point from Jessica and neveral near misses that might have close the gap further on another day.  Great team spirit on show and these players can take a bow for a strong finish to their season.

Best of luck to GDA Patrice:
Best of luck to the new South Kerry GDA Patrice Diggins. Parnells are looking forward to working with Patrice in promoting hurling in the local schools. Nice post already from one local primary school on their social media… Both Second Classes had a great morning hurling with Patrice Diggins. We learned the ready stance and how to dribble!
